Why is Jamieson so prolific with his updates ? Dunno, must be the weather. Getting cold, real fast. Now wearing gloves to ride back home. Beanie is next. Had home-made uhhh, not noodles, baozhi - dumplings on Sunday. Also had a Chinese mosquito flying around at 6 am today. Gassed the bedroom tonight.
Had a gruelling day, today. 1 hour class time with the vowel box, then 30 mins play time followed by library time. Sweet. Jamieson has time off until 4.30 pm. Lunch ? 'Soup of the day' (pumpkin and carrot, kind of sweet) with garlic bread. Jamieson has recreational and instructional reading time "Babes of Beijing", got to page 112, wow in 3 hours. Then, compile a dossier of t**rist events, write a report.) F. Why did I sign up for this ?Tomorrow is hell day. 7 classes.
Bye bye loves. We have a plant that closes its leaves when touched. It's my favourite. I watered it tonight, and reassured it that I would look after it.
AUSTRALIA, the worst drought in 1,000 years. That's not funny. Drought is not funny. Dams are now at 18% full. Climate change is putting my country at severe risk. Strange, Suzhou hasn't had much rain in the past 6 months but we have a huge lake, the size of Holland which provides us with water, we can shower. Water-ski on it! Hell, go jet-ski on it. Maybe we can drink it too, if only the pipes weren't 50 years old.
All my students caution me to not drink it. [But I see the shifus (workers) replacing the pipes with plastic ones). Excavators, diesel fumes, China is developing at a pace that will blow your mind. Faster boys, Faster.
I have a colleague from the Ukraine, Ukraine mind you : passed off as a native speaker of English. Brown eyes. White skin. A good man, 23 years old. If I survived a plane crash and we searched for water, I'd want him by my side.
Yuki has a particular dislike for him. Maybe I'm wrong (surely, she's right)
Anyway, China is growing at a speed you can't believe.
Good night , and good luck.
Jamieson
